Why will we list your home for only a 1% listing fee?

With technology advances, the real estate industry has changed resulting in a much savvier buyer. Most people search online for homes and coming to an agent with their homework completed saves everyone time and energy. We want to pass this savings on to you.
A poor economic climate results in opportunities for change. We believe that the real estate industry should change, too. Considering the current real estate and economic environment, we do not feel comfortable charging a fee that in a better real estate market was more easily absorbed by the client.
And, most importantly, because it’s the right thing to do!

There’s No Place Like Home: But What Should it Cost?

Just got done touring Bellingham homes on our bikes (a great way to get some exercise, really experience the neighborhood, and view some great real estate). We focused on the York and Sunnyland neighborhoods and really got to see what is going on in those areas.

A couple main impressions: most of the homes in these popular, established, and nice areas are older (which add a special element of charm) and almost all need a lot of work! OK, so don’t get depressed yet. What makes looking at these houses so exciting is discovering their potential. They all have so much and could be turned into lovely homes by professionals, do-it-yourselfers and complete home-remodeling virgins. What this all takes is vision (which we can totally help you with!!) and money. To my second impression:

While these are great Bellingham neighborhoods and all the homes have great potential, they are all overpriced!! Over $200 a square foot for a fixer-upper, really?! We did tour a couple turn-key homes but they were well over the $200/square foot price.

We do believe that you get what you pay for but we also believe in a good value. Let us know what you think. Especially in this current economic and real estate “crisis”, what is a reasonable and fair price for a home?
